Cape Verde: Re-experiencing Santiago Island and falling in love with it Again.
Santiago island is the more populated island of Cape Verde as it has the capital city, Praia.
During this visit, we felt like we had a more intimate feeling, and going through the orientation process as in our privious visit.
We had friends to meet, a flat of our own which we cooked and felt more freedom than in a room at a hotel.
Lunch at a TARRAFAL beach restaurant
a man enjoying his lollie watching the sea
Assomada market
Sao Francisco beach
Terra Branca: the neighbourhood in Praia we stayed in.
Dinner at local restaurants where locals ate at
Tasting local Grog (sugar cane alcohol) at a natural distillery in the countryside
glorious cakes to die for!
Shopping for our dinner vegetables
a carnival haircut by a local hairdresser
wine and cheese at the hotel spot we always return to by the sea.
